Do you have an Illinois ID?
If you have an Illinois driver’s license, permit, or state ID, the Secretary of State maintains a photograph captured through that credential process. Illinois law also expressly addresses facial-recognition search services involving those photographs.
The credential population is not adult-only. Illinois says there is no minimum age for a state ID card, and instruction permits may be issued beginning at age 15 under specified conditions.
NoRec does not claim that every credential photo is stored as a persistent biometric template. Where the records do not establish something, we mark it UNKNOWN.
THE RULE
If the evidence doesn't establish it, we don't present it as fact.
NoRec.US is a privacy and public-records project documenting government surveillance technology and the systems that connect it. The site has a point of view. The evidentiary standard does not.

SCOPE
Not just cameras.
The project follows the data: what is collected, how it is searched, where it travels, how long it remains, who can access it, and what changes when separate systems become one network.
THIS SITE PRACTICES WHAT IT PREACHES
