Federal ALPR sharing disabled after Secretary of State audit

The Illinois Secretary of State reported in September 2025 that Forest Park Police Motorola ALPR technology had provided Customs and Border Protection access to local plate-reader data. At the Secretary’s direction, Motorola and Forest Park disabled data-sharing capabilities with CBP and other federal agencies. The finding documents the access and the corrective change; it does not imply federal access remains enabled.
