Records documented multiple Chicago-area investigations involving officers accused of searches for personal rather than legitimate law-enforcement purposes.

Reported allegations included searches connected to former romantic partners and a former employer. West Chicago separately announced an investigation after an audit indicated an officer had used the Flock system for an unauthorized purpose between late 2024 and early 2025.
